IAN Insider: IAN Calls on Presbyterian Church to Address Anti-Semitism
The Israel Action Network (IAN) is calling on the Presbyterian Church (PC-USA) to address anti-Semitic content from the church’s Israel Palestine Mission Network (IPMN-PCUSA). The IPMN-PCUSA, a group chartered by the PC-USA General Assembly, has publically promoted policies, programs, social media and communications that delegitimize Israel and endorse anti-Semitic imagery and discourse.
The IPMN Facebook page, which has since been taken down in response to public concern by the JCPA (Jewish Council for Public Affairs) and IAN, included a cartoon of President Obama wearing weighty Jewish star earrings to suggest Jewish control of the American leaders. Additionally, they’ve posted articles accusing Jews of controlling the media and politics, placed blame on Israel for the American housing and economic crisis, and the IPMN-PCUSA communications chair has publicly opposed a two-state solution and supported conditioning the release of Gilad Shalit on a Palestinian right of return.
